keeps you from losing things behind the washing machine
I have a 300 plus pound combo unit, so anything that falls behind it will be there forever. These guards have already kept my coffee cup from walking off the back of the machine. I have a rubber mat that fits the top of the unit, so the folded under part is hidden, so the “wall” is barely noticeable. Recommended.

Nice, but difficult to cut
These look pretty nice and working well along the front of some RV cabinets where contents tend to topple out after travel. They were a little more difficult to prepare and install than expected though.The height had to be trimmed down, and the product video shows a hand with a normal pair of scissors easily trimming a shelf down. Sadly, they are NOT that easy to cut. Even with some very serious, sharp metal scissors that have been great at pretty much everything thrown at them they were not easy to cut. Unsurprisingly those smoothly manufactured edges also weren’t as smooth after cutting, though if too rough that can be addressed with wrapping a bit of tape over the edges.The finally point of frustration was not initially finding the adhesive strips tucked between. So at first set the guards in place thinking they could be installed with another adhesive. Once they were in place realized that the contents placed on top of the guard hold them in place too. Though the adhesive strips may be installed eventually, for now they are working fine for this purpose without them.

I used to have a dozen wool dryer balls that you can see in the red basket on my dryer. Now I have 10. I know where the other 2 are – behind the dryer. It’s extremely difficult to move our machines as they are located in a laundry closet in a narrow hallway. So those 2 balls will be there until we move, or until we replace the dryer, which will likely come first as this is our forever home.So when I saw these plastic guards that you can stick around the perimeter of your washer and dryer to prevent things from falling in behind them, I knew I wanted to give them a try.The package contains eight approximately 15″ long and 4.5″ high plastic guards. They are shaped like the letter “L”: the bottom part of the L sticks to the edge of the appliance, and the top part prevents things from falling off. The instructions recommend that you measure and cut the bottom part of the L at a 45 degree angle. I don’t have an Xacto knife and I don’t care if the edges meet perfectly.The first thing I did was clean the top of my dryer with a common household cleaner. Then I peeled off the protective plastic on each 15″ piece, revealing the clear plastic guards underneath. Then I placed them without the stickers and overlapped them in the corner and at the back of the dryer. I marked where the overlap needed to take place, and then I put the double sided stickers on.In total I used 3 of the guards for my dryer, and I think they will be very helpful keeping my dryer balls in the basket. I only put them on my dryer, because I don’t put anything on top of my washing machine. The washing machine shakes a lot when it is in the spin cycle, and anything on there would fall off anyway. When the guards are on, you really can’t see them. I have a horizontal collage of my washer and dryer with the before on top and the after on the bottom.I’ve been using these for a week (which is about 5 loads of laundry), and even though I am careful, the left hand side guard has caught one dryer ball from going down the side. I’m sold!

This is a simple product that does the job well. It is well built, and the material is long lasting. The installation is simple, with its double sided adhesive and it is also easy to prune to the right size/length if your need requires it. The product itself is useful for any washer/dryer combo that loads from the front, as it is used on the top to keep the clothes from falling off, or the back or sides, which can be an annoying chore to get back out. It has bevelled edges and is thick enough that it can be flexible and stiff enough at the same time to prevent clothes from falling off.
