Possibly better than the OEM part that failed !
Only time will tell on longevity, but this ice maker is almost identical to the OEM maker that failed. This one is quieter and operates perfectly. There are no instructions, but installation is simple. Simply remove old maker (3-4 screws), unplug wire plug, replace new maker. Now, just know the power plug is a pain. It has a locking clip that locks the plugs together, that must be depressed to unplug. With limited room to work, it can be frustrating. Also, you must LEVEL the new maker with the simple, sliding leveling tab on the bottom. This is important, so all ice cubes are the same size. Then, it may be necessary to slightly increase or decrease water fill flow by a simple screw on the front. This determines cube size. Too much water and cubes all fuse together and fall out in a section of ice, instead of single cubes. Last, once new maker is installed, it may take several hours before it activates and makes ice. At first, I though mine wasn’t working and was defective, or not plugged in properly. It wasn’t. It just needed time to communicate with freezer, fill with water and make ice. Again, just be patient and wait overnight. Plenty of videos are available on You Tube and other sites, showing installation. But, it’s easy and takes 10-15 min tops. After a month, I couldn’t be happier. I have tons of perfect ice and it’s quiet. Best of all, I was quoted $325.00 to replace by repair company. I did it myself for under $80.00

OEM fit and quality.
Easy to install to replace the original one that had a gear worn out. Just loosen the two screws about a quarter of an inch and it lifts right up and you can slide the new one in.The cord that plugs in is a little longer than the original one, wich actually makes it easier to plug and unplug. Other than the cord length it is identical to the worn out one it replaced.I reccomend some leather gloves when taking the old one out, got a slight burn from exposed piping on the bottom I didn’t see. Works great!

Not working first installed.
Bought this last year. Finally got around to replacing the old leaky one. Installed this new one. Not even turning on. I waited too long and now the return window is gone. Huge waste of money.Buy at your own risk.
