I am so glad I took a chance on another one. It was the one!
Oh, I love this little devotional! It is much more than I thought it would be. Or rather much more inspiring than I thought it would be. I have tons of these type of things because I am hoping to find one that helps me. One I can keep around and easily reach out to for some inspiration. And I like to journal. That is if I feel inspired to. And I love the Lord’s word. It’s been a long time since I got all of that from a journal. I am not very far into it but so far this one has done it for me. These can be such blessings to someone. I am so glad I took a chance on another one and got it. It was the one!

Great for travel or for home!
What I love about this is that it’s small enough to take with me to a doctor’s appointment, or to the beach, or even to keep on the table beside my bed. It provides all the scriptures that go along with the devotional questions, so I don’t have to pull out any of my Bibles. I prefer the ESV version of scripture because it makes it easier to understand. The devotional journal is about gentleness. There are questions and lined areas that you can write out your answers. The only complaint I would have about this is that some of the text is pretty small font, so it might be a little more difficult for some people. Thankfully they used a very simple and clean font that allows it to be easily read even though it is small. Overall, I think this is great for someone who is busy but still wants to do a devotional that is portable or easily stored. It has a nice, thick paper cover on the outside. This would also be great to take to work to do while on a break or at lunch too. This would make a nice stocking stuffer or gift too!

Simple and Elegant
I was looking for a little pick me up for a fellow believer as a gift. I grabbed this little devotional as it was beautiful. The pattern on the front and back cover make this book look so elegant. It makes leaving it out on a nightstand table or coffee table more than just convenience, but for decor as well. The book is lightweight enough that it could be taken on the go. The quality of the material inside is great in my opinion. There is a good emphasis on Bible verses which is a big deal to me when looking at devotionals. There is plenty of room to respond to the prompts and questions. The recepient loved the gift and was so excited to begin using it.

Didn’t like some of the verse selections
I got this devotional because I had used another in this series and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I didn’t like this one as much. My first issue with it was that not enough of the passages used the word “gentle” (or gentleness) in them, which means it was up to the author’s interpretation which passages were examples of godly gentleness. My second issue was that one of the passages it used was gentleness listed as a list of qualifications for an elder. Considering that the Bible requires elders to be men and that this book was written for women, this seemed like a strange passage to include. On the upside, I like the design of the devotional, the thick pages with high quality paper and the amount of space to write out answers. I liked that the questions were mostly open-ended (rather than didactic) so that you can read the passages and mine the riches on your own.

Great reminders!
Gentleness is NOT my strong fruit! This book has some great reminders as to why/how we go about utilizing gentleness in every day life. I have challenged myself (and been convicted by the Holy Spirit) to improve in this area of my life. I think this book is a good launching pad for improvement!

Simple, compact, and useful devotional.
This is a thin, nicely made, simple devotional. It starts with an introduction to the fruit of the Spirit and then some things on gentleness specifically. After that, it follows a repetitive pattern of having a Scripture passage, sometimes a whole chapter, and then having space for journaling in four areas (contemplation, insights, summary, and prayer). Those four elements are the same every time. This is nice if you want something thin and portable, but it might be nice to have one that covers all the fruits of the Spirit.

Beautiful little devotional
I love how there is so much scripture in this devotional. It is thin and easy to cart around (I bring things like this to the gym for my bike time). The cover is very pretty. I like the mentioning of fruit over apple pie (you’ll understand when you read it). The prompts are simple and to the point, but great for being thought provoking and digging deeper into what God tells us in the Bible about GENTLENESS. This would also make a nice gift to go along with a gift card or something.
