Good devotional
The format of this small devotional is beautiful: a well designed cover and nice, thick paper that my pen doesn’t bleed through. I do wish it was spiral bound rather than stitched because I found it difficult to write in unless pressing it down with my other hand. However, the stitching does have a pleasant aesthetic.I like that it has each passage laid out with plenty of space, so you can write and take notes. I’m always hesitant to write in my bible because it seems so permanent but this one I feel free to mark up. I appreciate that the questions are more open ended rather than leading so that you can glean from the passage what you will. You can take this deeply and do lots of research from commentaries and such but I chose to keep it more simple and not consult other resources. There are 12 passages and it took me about 30 minutes to go through all the questions for each passage (I usually split this up over 2 days).I typically just read through the Bible and haven’t done a topical study like this in a while. I did like it especially because it was so Bible based, sort of like doing a word study. It did make me wonder if this was a representative sample of the passages that talk about kindness in the Bible and what the biases of the author are/were in choosing these particular passages, since we all have biases. One of the biggest things I took away from this study was how many passages listed mercy and kindness next to each other, which made me realize there is more of a link between these two qualities than I had previously realized.

Very nice
This little study book on kindness is very helpful. It takes 12 passages from the Bible about kindness and has you read them and list things about them and break them down further followed by a space for you to write out your prayer. It’s easy to read, has lines to write on and is easy to accomplish, yet thought provoking and feel good

A Good Devotional on an often neglected subject
I did appreciate this devotional, especially since kindness is not often an attribute that is directly emphasized in the church. It often gets wrapped up in love, which is great, but thinking specifically about kindness is a great lens to read the scriptures through. This devotional is part of a series based on the fruit of the Spirit. For me, this was a great exercise because of the different passages being used. While the word “kind” or “kindness” seems to be used in all the passages for the 12 devotionals, “kindness” isn’t usually the first thing I think about in those passages. Focusing on that specific trait was enlightening. Each devotion is the same, except for the passage being used. Each devotion has the sections of contemplation, insights, summary, and prayer. I liked the choice of sections. There is an introduction at the beginning which was mostly okay. I had to reread it because I was a bit lost following the train of thought but it is relevant. The physical book build is good. It’s thin and lightweight but there is plenty of room to write inside.

Good daily reminders!
I struggle with this fruit on a regular basis. This book has a lot of great reminders to keep myself accountable to the Kindness fruit. Great for anyone practicing or looking to improve their attitude towards other people!

Very pretty book; very time consuming to do it right.
I am a journal enthusiast and lover of Bible studying. But I am struggling with a way to work my way thru this devotional journal. It is a very specific study on one of the fruits of the Spirit as described in Galatians (Kindness for this journal). The study method is to read a specific Bible scriptures, then write your thoughts under 4 headings: Contemplation, Insights, Summary, & Prayer. It takes a good deal of time to think out your thoughts and feelings and write them down. Since there are 12 scriptures to do this thinking and journaling about, I assume this to be done over the course of one year (1 per month). This seems a lot less overwhelming and time consuming when stretched out in time. Although I love the concept of study and journaling, I am not too interested in doing it in this manner.

Great Bible study book
I love that this Bible study has the entire text of the Scripture reading for each lesson so I don’t have to switch between this and my Bible. It has several studies, with room to write my own answers and/or thoughts for each question or contemplation. All you need is this book and a pen – definitely recommend!

Beautiful cover and nice format
I love these journals! And I love that they match my ESV floral cover Bible. The beautiful covers in this collection drew my attention, plus the very good price ($5.99 currently). This journal is like a very thin notebook, so it is perfect for traveling. If you can’t take your Bible with you, but you still want to do some Bible journaling, you can bring one of these journals and you don’t even need to carry an additional notebook. Each journal has a series of scriptures, followed by writing prompts: contemplation, insights, summary, and even a section where you can write your prayers. Both the cover and the paper are the right thickness so my pens don’t bleed through the paper. The font used is not too small and the writing space is plentiful. I am very excited to try all the journals in this collection!
