Fun and educating
My daughter likes doing the activities in this book. It’s more of an activity book, not an educational book so it is easier for her to want to open it up and learn.

Good for advanced 1st and 2nd Graders
My daughter used the 1st grade version of this book series and I felt the exercises were very helpful in her reading and writing development. This 2nd grade edition is another good continuation of building her skills. The beginning of the book has 101 stars (to check off when the child completes each page/activity). The book is split into 5 sections plus the answer key: Phonics/Decoding, Grammar/Spelling, Making Meaning (compound words, prefixes, suffixes etc), Sentences/Structure, and Read/Find out.The answer key is helpful at the end as there are a couple of questionable moments that came up. But overall the book is very clearly designed with colorful illustrations, clearly written instructions, and easy to read text.

Good workbook to transition to 2nd grade
This workbook has a good variety of activities, ranging from word finds, crossword puzzles, exploring vowel sounds, sentence completion, and more. It actually tracks our school curriculum pretty closely, so it would make a good transition over the summer between 1st & 2nd grades. The pages are thick enough that regular pen will not bleed through. The colors are bright and fun for kids. There’s enough “white space” so that kids aren’t overwhelmed by information or activity.

great for boosting reading skills
i got this for my almost 6 year old daughter. she was always right next to her 7 year old sister when she did online classes so she’s a bit more advanced at reading than other kids. she really likes to do the activities in these books. she really loves to learn and these are a fun way to help her. the activities in here are easy to moderate for her to complete. i really like that these are available to help kids learn in a fun way.the activities are designed to keep kids interested in the work without becoming bored or frustrated.

Great workbook to reinforce or review second grade reading skills
I like this workbook which uses a variety of exercises to reinforce or review second grade skills. The pages have some color, which is appealing. This book is for use with one child and I got it to use with my grandson. It is not reproducible due to copyright. As a teacher, I would also love it if they would issue a higher-priced reproducible version of this workbook so that teachers could enjoy this resource for their second grade classes.

It’s a nice book
I picked this book up for my thrid grader, since she is a bit behind in reading and spelling. I would consider it age appropriate. She likes the book enough… but it certainly keeps her attention better than regular homework, that’s for sure. The pages are bright and colorful. And the instructions are “easy” enough for her to do most of the pages on her own. This book is a nice find and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Errors in this workbook
The errors in this workbook are making my child quite frustrated. Sometimes the correct answer isnât available, other times the workbook has grammatical errors. Definitely needs some proofreading before heading to print. Not useful for my child. Only created frustration.
