About:
Played anywhere there is sand, TidalBall combines the competition of cornhole, the ease of bocce ball, and the portability of a turkey sandwich. It’s a beach game for all ages, from hyper kids to adult-beverage-toting “grown-ups.” The entire game is contained in a 10-ounce sand and water proof bag. The balls float, and TidalBall comes with four koozies. We need not explain the benefit of keeping your beverages cold.
The Rules
In the hole, 3 points. In the trench, 1 point. Four players, split into two teams. Teammates on opposing side, alternate tosses like horseshoes or cornhole. Classic cancel out / net scoring. For more detailed rules, check out the diagram above or just make them up as you go. TidalBall’s only rule is to have fun.
The Science is in the Balls
The right balls make all the difference. Full disclosure, when we invented the game, we started with golf balls. We quickly learned that golf balls are too heavy. Golf balls leave divots and tracks in the hard packed sand, and they are useless in the soft pack sand. Plus when a friend or family loses a golf ball in the ocean, it’s tough to enjoy the rest of the game. Although our balls are proprietary information, here are the details we can divulge.

Born on the white sand beaches of South Carolina, TidalBall is the fun-loving low country brain child of a few friends that got tired of carrying cornhole boards and bocce sets to and from the beach. So we invented a lightweight, no-hassle beach game. We played for ten years. Taught thousands of people interested in the game that looked like so much fun. Enough people kept asking to buy our home-made sets, so we started making sets for other people. Then more people noticed, word-of-mouth started, and that’s how TidalBall got rolling.

Best beach game yet!
Wow! I bought this on a whim for our spring break trip this year. We are a beach game loving family and this immediately skyrocketed to our favorite spot. It is very similar to Cornhole, but in a small, lightweight, easy to pack bag. We got asked about it multiple times everyday by people walking by on the beach. I wish I would have found this sooner. It will go on EVERY beach trip from now on!

Fun in the sun
What a nice little beach game! It packs into a small, included bag and comes with a sand scoop for “making” the goals at each end of your court.I used this every day on a week-long beach trip this summer and everyone had a blast. The game rules and distances between the goals can be modified to accommodate different skill or age levels.It seemed pricey for what you get but it’s all high quality. After a week of constant use, there was no noticeable finish wear on the balls. I expect this set to last many years. Packs so small, you won’t even notice it in your beach bag.Get this! Your friends and family will have a blast.

Fun Game
I have purchased this item twice! I purchased it for my family to use on vacation. Many beach-goers stop and ask us what we are playing and where they can get a set. I purchased this again in 2024 for a Christmas gift for some friends that live on the beach. It takes up very little space. You can play this game with adults AND Kids! Such a fun game…I wish the bags came came so compact as this one!

Birds will steal the red balls
This would have been 5 star but sadly their is one big design flaw. The red balls are attractive to the birds and seagulls at the beach. I ordered this just for our beach trip and was so excited to play it. We opened it and set up the sand/holes and played 2 games back to back. While waiting for a partner match up to play a 3rd game a bird swooped in and stole the red ball right out of the shovel they balls were sitting in that came with the game. He flew off into the top of a palm tree and when he flew out the ball was no where to be see. Either he left it in the top of the palm tree or he ate it (not sure if he could even swallow it). So sad that we literally had 2 games/less than an hours use before it became useless. I saw where I can order more but it is only red and blue options. I have a full blue set so I need a different color but the only option is red. I didnât want more red since they seem to be a magnet for birds. Plus I am mad I will have to pay nearly another $10 for more balls when I already paid $25 for 45 minutes of use.Over all , yes the game is fun. But watch out for birds or you may only get to play the game once. We were sitting within feet of the balls when it happened so the birds were not shy about taking it.

Four straight years best beach game ever!
Iâm not a big review writer but this deserves a huge shout out. Itâs crazy that such a simplistic game can be so captivating. I bought it four years ago on a lark for something different to do on our annual beach trip. Little did I know it would be the number one thing on the our list of âmust bringsâ. Easy set up, ever changing arena, challenging skill test and no athleticism involved (i.e. you can hold an adult beverage while playing!). Some reviewers have suggested you could duplicate it w golf balls or other sports balls for much cheaper. Donât be fooled. The peeps who designed this knew that wooden balls would be the perfect weight for sand play. Virtually indestructible and they float! Well thought out. Donât overthink it. Just get it!
