Great for travel!
These are a must for children in an airplane. I buy a pack every time we travel. Keeps them entertained on and off throughout the trip. Even the adults love playing with them. Everyone always asks what they are. They do leave a little sticky feeling in your hands but it’s not bad and worth the fun and distraction.

Weird and fun
I love these, possibly more than my toddler who they were a gift for. My son does enjoy playing with them for a while at a time and they are a good non messy creative outlet for him. I enjoy using them with him as well, but I don’t like the sticky/oily residue left behind on my fingers after each use. (Knocked a star for that!) I would not play with these outdoors or any place they would get wet or dirty. The package they come in is where we store ours after playing. This a great on the go toy for the car on traveling on a plane.

Too expensive and not suitable for preschoolers.
I bought this item as a distraction for visiting grandchildren, ages 2 and 4. The package has 2 waxed paper strips, 12 each, stuck down by color. After stripping off the waxed pieces they lost interest. The 4 yo was able to twist 2 colors together, but the 2 yo wasn’t interested at all. I bought the cheapest version I could find,, and now I’m certain they are too expensive for what they are, from the small counts to the large, all brands. They did not sustain the interest of my grandchildren.I did assess them myself to see if they stick as stated. They stuck to others and to hard surfaces, but they are not substantial enough to form shapes, even for kids a bit older.. One more observation: If dropped on the floor, especially carpet, these slightly sticky pieces will collect household dust, and eventually stop sticking altogether.I would not expect most 2–5-year-olds to make creative projects from these without guidance. However, if you show them something you assemble, most children will attempt to copy it, rather than create their own. No creativity in that. Still, there might be some fine motor skills benefit.I suggest you stick with molding clays at this age. A better sensory experience, IMO, and even a 2-year-old can manipulate clay.Update 11-14-2021 I returned these. After my original review, I realized it would be significantly cheaper to use chenille stems (AKA pipe cleaners) because the sticky feature does not add much to bendy stems, IMO. Besides, pipe cleaners are very useful for cleaning in tiny spaces, like between baseboard radiator fins, and fishing out black gunk from your sink drains. (I do like versatile products.) Look for something like the link. You could even brush them with non-toxic white school glue if you really wanted to add stickiness. These were perfect for my littles stockings. Great for play when out to eat or on the road. The quality, ease of use, color, and functionality is worth the price.
